Looking for some fantastic Tex-Mex? Head out to Georgetown. Just
near the historic downtown square is a super popular place called Dos Salsas Tex-Mex Restaurant. We have seen this place be packed with people even during the hours many other restaurants are not.
Restaurant owner Memo Plata cut his teeth working in some popular Austin Mexican restaurants. Now he can be found personally servin' up a little Mexican food love to the waves of hungry patrons in Georgetown. Obviously, they love it, he's been packing the house for the last ten years.This is the perfect stop for a variety of delicious Tex-Mex dishes, like Stuffed Jalapenos (these are HUGE), a Shrimp Tostada, Salads, a Low Carb menu, Pechuga plates (grilled chicken breast), fajita plates, seafood and of course the traditional Tex-Mex or
Authentic if you prefer. They even offer a small American section to their menu.We're all used to Mexican restaurants bringing out chips and salsa as soon as you are seated. The tradition has even been copied by restaurants in other cuisines. But it's always been our favorites when they make it all in house. These are thin, crispy, light and crunchy little bites from heaven when you walk in starving.
Sometimes you just feel like having an Enchilada plate. Here's one you will be pleased by. The "El Gordito", two cheese enchiladas covered with enchilada goodness served with rice and beans. But Dos Salsas doesn't stop there. The second plate comes with crispy taco, guacamole and their chile con queso.Shrimp lovers (like us) should try one of the choices from the salad menu... Shrimp Salad. This dish makes for a beautiful first impression just by the presentation, then
follows up with flavor. Sauteed shrimp with pico de gallo, avocado slices, tomatoes and Monterey Jack. This makes a nice choice if you're looking for something on the lighter side.Another one of our favorites is from their Parrillada (Grilled) section of the menu. Other mixed grill fajitas offer steak, chicken and shrimp as well but Dos Salsas once again takes it a little further with a delicious jalapeno sausage and of cours all of the expected fajita compliments. (you gotta try
this!) All of the meat on this plate is very tender, juicy and packed with flavor.Dos Salsas serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers great margaritas and also a full bar. There's a nice covered patio dining area for those who want to sit outside. We would recommend Dos Salsas to our closest friends and family, so you can go with the confidence of walking away satisfied.
