If you're in search of one of those friendly "down-home" small town cafes that serve fantastic comfort food... 





You're in luck.  Sendero Restaurant & Tavern in Liberty Hill may be exactly what you are looking for.  We understand that this location next to the Sendero Event Center has changed hands a few times before, but the folks who have taken over now seem to have their act together.  The restaurant is located less than a block north of Hwy 29 in Liberty Hill on County Road 214.

This was the previous home of places like the Hobo Depot and Outlaws.  Sendero Restaurant purchased the Hobo Depot and their recipes which have been popular in Liberty Hill for some time.  Then they gave the restaurant a total face lift, added their own recipes and touch to the old ones.  What's left is another hot eatery in Liberty Hill.

On the menu you'll find a versitile selection of food to choose from served up in generous portions like, Chicken Fried Steak, huge salads, steaks, fish or shrimp plates, Meatloaf, burgers and sandwiches.

     

If you have been reading very many of our restaurant articles, then you probably already know that we always love to find a delicious chicken fried steak.  Sendero makes a great one.  This alone could be reason enough for us to make the short trip to Liberty Hill for dinner.  But they do so much more...

You can't go wrong with their New York Strip Steak either.  This is a generous serving of beef for any carnivore, which is seasoned with Sendero's home-made rub and grilled to juicy perfection that will make your mouth water.  Even though we tried lots of food at this restaurant until we were about to bust, they brought us the steak and we still wanted to keep eating.  Great Job!  Finish that meal with an exceptional slice of Cheesecake and you will be hooked.

One of our favorites...  The Dixie Chicken. this dish features a marinated chicken breast that is grilled just right then topped with sauteed spinach, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and a wonderful Feta cheese that in our opinion, just brings the hole thing together.  This one is a hit!  In fact it's one of their most popular dishes in the restaurant.  You GOTTA try this!

The restaurant also has a full bar, so feel free to order up some cold drinks with your meal.  We could go on and on about this place.  You should just know that these are really nice people, who know good food.  They even encourage local artists to bring their works of art to be displayed for sale in their restaurant. 

Hop in your car.  Make the short trip out to Liberty Hill.  You'll be glad you did.  And let us know what you think.  We're patiently waiting by the computer for your response.
